Limestone Bust of Thoth as a Baboon

Later Period Circa 664 - 332 BC

Depicted in squatting position , the baboon is seated with the lower part of the body missing, the forepaws emerge from the fur cape to rest on the bent knees of the hind legs.

A bronze tang at the top of the head for the attachment of a crown, sun disc with remains of the original bronze insert.

60 mm in height excluding stand

Likely a representation of the God Thoth.
