Ancient Egyptian glazed composition amulet of the dwarf god Bes in green faience.
He is depicted with a full beard and wearing a tall headdress of four large incised plumes. His body is postured in his typical squatting position with hands on his knees, one arm missing Egypt Circa 664-332BCE

Bes also spelled as Bisu), together with his feminine counterpart Beset, is an ancient Egyptian deity worshiped as a protector of households and, in particular, of mothers, children and childbirth. Bes later came to be regarded as the defender of everything good and the enemy of all that is bad The domain of the Bes image was the household. He averted evil with music, knives, or the sa sign as he watched over the occupants of the house. He was particularly protective of women and children, and over time this responsibility gave him a role in some temples when there was a birth house for the deity.
Thus, the Bes image was a popular amulet
